Submission Guidelines

Strange Passage is currently seeking quality stories. I like stories of any genre, or any combination of genres. I love it when genres are twisted, combined or left behind. Show me something that is honest and new. Break your own rules.

Stories should be less than 20,000 words, but I’ll consider longer pieces if they are serialized well. Send the complete story. I prefer that you not send fiction in the body of the email, but as an attachment. I’d really prefer it if you didn’t send .pdf files.

Most of the content that AI companies use to develop their software is copyrighted and should be licensed if used that way. Therefore, I ask that you don’t submit any AI-written or AI-assisted stories. Thanks for respecting that.

Reprints are OK, but make sure you have the rights to your own story. I want to emphasize this point because while I love corresponding with writers, I don’t really want to get bad news from another publisher.

My response times will vary, so simultaneous submissions are OK, but please let me know if your story has been accepted somewhere else. Please only send one story at a time.

I ask for non-exclusive, global electronic rights to display your story on StrangePassage.com. If you ever want your piece to leave the site, please contact me.

I think the above arrangement reflects that Strange Passage is a non-paying market. In the same vein, Strange Passage will not ask for money from anyone. It is a ‘for the love’ fiction market in all respects.
